Ingredients:

  • 4 large peaches, pitted and sliced into 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) wedges (approx. 2 lbs / 900g)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Slice the peaches into uniform wedges to ensure consistent cooking and softness.
  2. Melt the butter over medium heat in a large non-stick skillet or wide saucepan. Add the peach slices in a single layer and cook for 3-5 minutes without stirring excessively to allow edges to caramelize.
  3. Stir in the maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, and lemon juice. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 7-10 minutes until the peaches look translucent and a thick, syrupy glaze forms.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the peaches sit for 2 minutes to allow the syrup to thicken further before serving.
