Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sliced peaches
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Toss the sliced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl until coated. Pour the mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  2. Pour the melted butter directly into the bottom of the baking dish or around the edges of the fruit.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  4. Gently pour the batter over the peaches without stirring, allowing it to float on top.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the top is deep golden brown.
