Ingredients:
- 4 cups sliced peaches
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Toss the sliced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl until coated. Pour the mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Pour the melted butter directly into the bottom of the baking dish or around the edges of the fruit.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk until just combined.
- Gently pour the batter over the peaches without stirring, allowing it to float on top.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the top is deep golden brown.
