Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed nuts or rainbow sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Slowly pour in the chilled heavy cream, whisking gently until the mixture is uniform; avoid over-mixing to prevent premature aeration.
  3. Process the mixture based on equipment: For an ice cream machine, churn for 20-30 minutes; for a blender or food processor, pulse on high for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Once the mixture reaches a thick, ribbon-like consistency, stop the machine and gently fold in optional chocolate chips or nuts with a spatula for 10 seconds.
  5. Serve immediately for a classic soft serve texture.
