Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed nuts or rainbow sprinkles
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Slowly pour in the chilled heavy cream, whisking gently until the mixture is uniform; avoid over-mixing to prevent premature aeration.
- Process the mixture based on equipment: For an ice cream machine, churn for 20-30 minutes; for a blender or food processor, pulse on high for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Once the mixture reaches a thick, ribbon-like consistency, stop the machine and gently fold in optional chocolate chips or nuts with a spatula for 10 seconds.
- Serve immediately for a classic soft serve texture.
