Ingredients:

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 sprig of fresh mint for garnish
  • 1.5 cups crushed ice

Instructions:

  1. Place the mint leaves in the bottom of your cup. Use your muddler to press the leaves gently against the sides of the glass 3-4 times to release the essential oils without shredding the leaves.
  2. Pour in the simple syrup and the bourbon. Stir briefly with the muddler to integrate the sugar and alcohol with the mint oils.
  3. Fill the cup halfway with crushed ice. Stir vigorously with a long spoon or muddler for about 10 seconds to chill the base.
  4. Mound more crushed ice on top until it forms a snowy dome above the rim of the glass.
  5. Slap a large, lush sprig of mint against the back of your hand to release the aroma, then tuck it deep into the ice dome next to the straw.
