Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it smells nutty and looks golden brown. Pour it into your mixing bowl and whisk in both sugars until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
- Stir in the eggs and vanilla until the batter is smooth and glossy.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the mixture together until no more streaks of white flour are visible.
- Fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden brown but centers look slightly underbaked.
